The Southern Cross on the blue with the red bars was put forward by an interesting old American who was notorious back in the 70s/80s. The 4th star... Ian Mune is right... if we don’t grab those stars the Aussies will beat us to it!! At the time I thought about this design a lot... and came to the conclusion that it could very well be IT... I like its low key, conservative ‘flagishness’... a lot of what’s being put forward now is too pictorial... too ‘logoish’ or just too try hard in general... too many tsunami waves... too much vegetation...
